THE IMPORTANCE OF
MARRIAGE BUREAUX
The equal social dignity of citizen and the
protection of work in all its forms are amongs the fundamental
principles in our society and constitution.
And yet there are activities wchich are still
discriminated against prejudice, as the word itself suggests, is a
judjement made before having come into contact with the facts.
Knoledge is therefore the real antidote to prejudice.
Therefore our first intention is to get to know who
we are and what aour work really is. This is one of the main reasons why
ACMA the Association of Marriage consultants and bureaux was constituted
and which brings together Italian bureaux with the intention of claiming
its professionalism and importance in society.
What exactly is the work of a marriage bureau? It
helps to bring people together so that they can share their lives
together. It is obvious that only unmotivated prejudice can find
something unbecoming in asking and offering help on payment, instead of
leaving it to the indifference and hostility of destiny.
Our work cannot be improvised it requires competence
and professionalism.
In order to be able to offer valid marriage
consultancy one needs to have a great deal of experience in the
psycology of the individual and couple as well as a precise knoledge of
the legislation in the sector.
For all this we consult psycologist, sociologists and
lawyers.
In addition one needs to know how to use the
mechanism behind market research and advertising which are instruments
used daily in our work.
It is incredible that there are still people
somewhere between palmistry and blandishment assertting the
professionalism of associated bureaux and contributing to raising the
overall standard of the category, isolating unethical behaviour is one
of the fundamental tasks of the association.
ACMA does not have any intention of protecting
anybody using incorrect methods. Our purpose is to be an official point
of reference for bureaux and their clientele. We intend to collect all
the information on incorrect behaviour and denounce them clearly and
circustantially. We wish at all costs to prevent generic complaints and
generalised accusations from damaging the image of all those who have
laboured to build up a good reputation by working seriously.
One of thr fundamental tasks of the association is to
draw up a code of ethics which all our associates must adhere to. Part
of the association must accept the format undertaking of operating by
manteining a high level of quality and professional strictness.
